Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) Performance Enhancement with Active Route Time-Out parameter

چکیده
The routing protocols play an important role in the performance of the Ad-hoc mobile networks. The Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol (AODV) is a reactive routing protocol for mobile networks. The route discovery process in AODV is initiated only prior to link establishment for data communication. This research focuses on the effect of the Route states hold time parameter on the performance of the Ad-hoc mobile network which is indicated by the Packet Delivery Rate (PDR). Our aim is to identify the effect of varying Route states hold time parameters for Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and measure the degree at which the number of stations and their movement speeds affects the PDR. These factors are presented, discussed and simulated using OPNET simulation software. Key-Words: Aodv, Opnet, Olsr, Rreq, Rrep, Active route timeout (ART), Packet delivery rate (PDR)

Multipath Node-Disjoint Routing with Backup List Based on the AODV Protocol
In recent years, routing has been the most focused area in ad hoc networks research. On-demand routing in particular, is widely developed in bandwidth constrained mobile wireless ad hoc networks because of its effectiveness and efficiency. Most proposed on-demand routing protocols are built and relied on single route for each data session. Whenever there is a link disconnection on the active ro...

High mobility of mobile nodes is one of the major reasons for link failures in mobile ad hoc network (MANET). The present paper aims at proposing modification of well known Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol for MANET seeking stable route for data transmission and incorporating link break avoidance scheme for such networks. The performance of the proposed routing protocol,...

Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a self-organized and infrastructure-less mobile network. Wireless Mesh Networks is self-configuration; self-healing and low cost adhoc network. Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), in MANETs is an on-demand variation of the distance vector routing protocol. This protocol initiate route discovery only when a route is needed and maintain active routes only whi...
متن کاملA Novel Approach for an Optimized Route Discovery and Packet Forwarding for Ad-hoc Networks Using Multi Rate Routing Protocol
Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) Routing is a routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) and other wireless ad-hoc networks. The traditional AODV protocol cannot address to multi rate PHY communications. In this project, we analyze the relationship between data rate, corresponding transmission range and number of hops in AODV protocol and find the optimal data rate for AODV con...
متن کاملAn Energy-Aware On-Demand Routing Protocol for Ad-Hoc Wireless Networks
An ad-hoc wireless network is a collection of nodes that come together to dynamically create a network, with no fixed infrastructure or centralized administration. An ad-hoc network is characterized by energy constrained nodes, bandwidth constrained links and dynamic topology. With the growing use of wireless networks (including ad-hoc networks) for real-time applications, such as voice, video,...
